Above The Clouds

I was listening to my music on shuffle the other day, and the song “Above The Clouds” by Cyndi Lauper came on. I haven’t heard it in a while, but now I remember why it always inspired me so much. I decided to share these lyrics along with some pictures that I’ve taken over the years. Hopefully it provokes some emotions for you, too.

“There’s a place where the sun breaks through
And the wind bites cold and hard
Stings my ears and
Tears my eyes
When the day starts to shout out loud

Stand tall
And glide
When you’re all alone in the crowd
Don’t fall
Don’t hide
When you walk above the clouds
When you walk above the clouds

When the light is against your face
And your smile is soft and sound
That’s when you tell me all your fears
and all your dreams
So proud

Stand tall
And glide
When you’re all alone in the crowd
Don’t fall
Don’t hide
When you walk above the clouds
When you walk above the clouds

I try and tell you
to keep your head upright
Don’t swing your sword and shield against the night
Don’t block your blessings, boy
You don’t have to fight
You don’t have to fight

Stand tall
And glide
When you’re all alone in the crowd
Don’t fall
Don’t hide
When you walk above the clouds
When you walk above the clouds”

Lyrics by Jeff Beck, Cyndi Lauper and Jed Leiber

Thanks for reading!

Till Next,

  1. Wonderful!

  2. Very nice pictures!

  3. There's a frog on my Sprocket!

Great photos and post! I really had never thought about capturing pictures from up above. Very cool.
It’s great how music triggers memories, inspires and motivates.

    • Thanks! That’s my favourite thing to do on the plane. It helps to pass the time. My cover photo at the top of my blog was taken from a plane window, too! 🙂

  4. These pictures are very calming and yet so much going on at the same time – who would have thought that a few patches of steam and the thrashing of waves could give the mind so much to dine on before it falls into a deep, dreamy sleep! I like them all but the last one really is my favourite, you can see see tons of stuff in the shapes. Great post my boy, sorry for the late comment but I am slowly catching up 😉

    • Hey man. No worries. I’ll take any reply, any time. I’m glad that you enjoyed the photos. I don’t even do photography as a hobby, so I’m glad that the pictures I was able to take turned out so well. It’s great to hear from you! Hope you had a great Christmas and New Year’s. Here’s to blogging in 2013, for the both of us.
